The Imperfect Eye

My Manifesto

I see differently: My camera is my constant companion, allowing me to capture the world's unique perspectives, day or night. I aim to share how light, form, and emotion interact, making photography a seamless part of my life.

I embrace imperfection: I often shoot from the hip, welcoming the grainy texture of film and the unexpected flare. Perfection is a sterile ideal; I celebrate the candid moments that defy rigid composition. These imperfections, captured without overthinking, are the fingerprints of reality, the soul of a photograph, telling a story I value.

I believe in truth over perfection: I value honesty in images, approaching my subjects closely. Life isn't always perfectly posed; it's messy, dynamic, and beautiful in its imperfection.

I embrace authenticity: I believe in capturing real emotions and genuine interactions. No forced smiles, no awkward poses – just life as it unfolds, captured without knowing exactly what the film will reveal later.

I find beauty in the ordinary: Extraordinary moments hide in everyday life. I seek to reveal the beauty, poetry, and significance often overlooked.

I value the process: The journey to the final image is as important as the destination. I embrace the slow, deliberate act of observation, the patient pursuit of the perfect moment, the alchemy of development and print.

I believe in the power of connection: Photography is a bridge, a way to connect with myself, with others, and with the world around me. I strive to create images that resonate, that inspire, that foster understanding. Photography, for me, is about connection – connection with people, with places, with moments. It's about seeing beyond the surface.

I evoke, don't just show: I aim to create images that evoke a feeling, spark curiosity, or inspire contemplation, rather than simply documenting reality.

My camera is a tool, my vision is key: Technique matters, but it serves the vision. Ultimately, I don't worry about any rules, but simply translate what I see and feel into a tangible image that resonates with me and others.

This manifesto may seem written specificaly for analog photography, but it's much greater than that. All mediums are good, and I take it for life too.

Don't mistake the focus on analog photography; the heart of this manifesto beats for all creative mediums and resonates deeply with my very approach to life.
